where do we go from here my friend

Hello to anyone reading this post and thank you in advance for your time!!! I am a 35 year old adoptee born in ohio and adopted from Tennessee, along with my now 26 year old half sister. I am interested in first) obtaining a copy of the adoption records, looking for possible health issues, genealogy, questions about circumstances of adoption and general curiosity.second) possible contact based on info and feeling after adoption records are reviewed. I was taken from my mother when I was 9-10 and adopted when I was 12, so I still vividly remember my natural mother. know her name, status when I was adopted etc. given the information I have I would think it would be fairly simple to recover any info I seek.... Just not sure of the best way to do so. given that I do not live in Tennessee, do I need to hire and attorney? if so any recommendations? search firm.. make a visit to see what I can rumage up? just not sure where to start? any suggestions would be appreciated.. thanks again for your time!
