My daughter's finalization is comming in a few weeks and I'm at a loss for what to get the APs, my daughter and her brother. We didn't do Christmas gifts this year (too many reasons to get into) but instead opted for "finalization gifts." I have ordered "The Spirit of Open Adoption" for the APs, and have a nifty picture frame that I'm going to put family pictures in, but I need somethin else.
I've also sent the adoptive mother 2 dozen colorful roses for mother's day (that will arrive exactly 7 months after placement on the 9th). I'm wondering-as an adoptive parent-what would you like to receive as a gift from your child's birthmother?
Wow, you sound awesome! I love your idea's. I have never received anything from my daughters aparents and I never expected anything. I have often hoped to get a card or a letter. I think your idea's are thoughtful. There is also a cd I bought on adoptionshop.com called "Adoption: The songs you love." I was planning on giving that to her bmom when I see her again. I love that cd. Have you heard it?
Hugs,

no, I have not heard it. Maybe I'll check adoptionshop.com out. I want to get my daughter's APs something really nifty and memorable and special. It's difficult to think of anything that they could want from me though. I had started to crochet a blanket for my daughter while I was pregnant (even before I knew that she was going to be a daughter) but something happened last month while I was crocheting and the blanket looks awful and cannot be finished! So I'm at a loss of what to get her as well. As far as her big brother goes...man. He's 3, so I duno. Ahhh! Okay, I'll stop stressin and go look...
I think a handwritten journal...perhaps regarding this journey & why you chose them. Sounds to me like they are very lucky people & being a part of their lives is probably more than gift enough..GOD BLESS YOU!
I like momm2mimi's idea. Or how about a list of the things that drew you to them and helped you "know" that THEY were the ones your were meant to choose?
Something like that would mean the world to me. I'm sure it would to them too.
