Any single males interested in co-parenting?

Hello all, I am a single, biological mom to be and thought this board might be a good place to find someone who wants a child in his life. I am a straight, professional female who is planning to have a child, but I have no support system here in New York City (live here alone and no family in the area) which makes this a scary prospect. I knew there had to be single men out there who also want a child, so I thought I'd pose this idea here (I was glad to find such a message board!). I realize this is an unusual request, but I thought there might be those who would like to join forces in raising a child, and there really is not a particular board for such situations. I would love for my child to have a father figure in his/her life. I'd like to hear from anyone who would seriously consider such an arrangement. As I stated, I am in New York City but if someone didn't mind distance and some travelling (until my job is such that I can move), then Philadelphia, New Jersey or DC might be options as well. I guess the "father" would adopt the baby so we are both his/her legal parents? I am not sure of the legalities of such a thing, or if that is even necessary, but I am open to thoughts on how to do this, or where I might find some interest. Thanks for reading.
