Thought you all might appreciate that I know of at least 1 american family getting a referral under the new system. I also have info from a Bulgarian agency that I am planning on using that has had 5 referrals( 2 to US families). Maybe things are starting to move?

I was under the old system, travelled in 3/03 for the first visit, and found out in 4/04 the child was inadvertantly referred to another family after waiting over a year. Now under the new system and have been waiting since for a court date....patiently. We are done with BG

I am not sure whether anything is moving in Bulgaria or not. I am afraid we would wait for more than a year for a healthy referral. Every agency tells you a different story.

I think Bg is in chos, whether it be the old or new system they are way behind. I have friends who returned on 5/30 with their daughter. Their adoption was finalized in Feb. but they could not get her BC or passport done......no one knew what they were doing and I think that is what lies ahead...

The american family had dossier in in JAN but had missing papaers then got letter of receipt may and referral june. Bugarian agency says the 5 referrals were not special needs. All these are new system.

Got outside confirmation from the french referral that she indeed did use the agency....... Family-NA and was very happy with them. She got referral in Jan and picked up late may/early june. Hope this gives encouragement. This was all done from new system.

Wow, then here is hoping that we hear something soon! Our son is waiting patiently to come home...and of course no info from the agency I am using....sent several e-mails over the past three weeks and no reply....Amazing they know how to reel you in then leave you hanging...Anyway thanks for the "positive" info!!!
