COULD SOMEONE PLEASE TELL IF YOU HIRED A PI TO LOOK FOR THE ABSENT PARENT OR DID YOU JUST FILE YOUR ADOPTION PAPERWORK THEN FILED YOUR ABANDONMENT PAPERS AND HOW DO YOU FILE THE ABANDONMENT PAPERS (IS IT DONE WITH A ORDER TO SHOW CAUSE?).... AND IF ANY OF THIS IS NEEDED IF I WAS AWARDED SOLE LEGAL/PHYSICAL CUSTODY...
ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED
THANK YOU
TRICE
You should file for adoption first. That way once contact is made if they decide to fight it you will have that on your side. If you do not then any atemp at contact on their part now will count against your abondonement.

I always tell people to get "How to Adopt Your Stepchild in California" It should explain alot about what your grounds and options are.
You may want to consider filing under California Family code 8604. This allows you to consent to the adoption over the objections of the absent parent. Look it up and see if this law applies to your case.
Good Luck!!
