Hi,
I have a question that I am hoping someone here from Australia can answer for me..
I have just obtained my Supply Authority and am about to proceed with getting my Original Birth Certificate, I have the form here to fill out to get it but I rang up Births, Deaths & Marriages and asked if I could go in in person and get it done on the day like you can normal birth certificates, the man I spoke to said yes that is fine just bring the supply authority with you..
Now as it is a 5 hour drive for my to my nearest BD&M Office, I decided to ring back and recheck hoping that I would get someone else, well this second person has now told me that it takes 6 weeks to get your Original Birth Certificate, but he was umming a lot as if he didnt really know the answer,,..
Heres hoping that someone out there maybe able to tell me if you can infact go into the office and do this, if not what is the time frame roughly on what you have to wait..
Ive waited 31 years for this, and now that I at least have a name Im dying to find out more info, and can't sleep from thinking about it all...
Put me out of my misery!

As you said you already have the supply form, it seems that you could post a check for the $ 29.00 and BD&M will send it to you by post so no need to go in person. Hope this helps..good luck

Thanks for the info, Ive posted it all off now.
I was hoping that I would of been able to go into the office and get it processed on the day, but I emailed themand they said the searches take 4 weeks as they want to make sure they are giving us the correct information, so Ill just play the waiting game now..
