Need LEGAL help with stepparent adoption advice. Please  My son's biological father is being difficult. He just recently (last week) started calling my son after 2 years of absolutely nothing (my son is 5), I tried to ask if I could change my son's last name to our family name and flat out refused, then had nerve to complain about getting notices for child support, which I might add he has never paid! I am not going after him for that San Mateo County Health services is, anyways, My husband would like to adopt our son, I have all the forms (blank), I really think I should persue legal help/counsel, OK CONTACT me if you are or know someone effective, efficient, and ready, low-no cost would be nice, he doesn't deserve the rights the law is entitling him to at this point, HELP.
Is there a legal aid office nearby? I've also found out that my state's attorney general's office has a free legal advice liine. Diff atty's volunteer time to help give advice. Try calling your atty generals office.
Good luck
