looking for b/family, born 1945 in Detroit, MI. was told that B/mom came from Quebec

:) Hi........I'm searching for my mother's birth family or anyone that may know anything of them. My mother was born in October of 1945 in Detroit Michigan. Her name before adoption was Penalope (or something close to that)she was told. She was adopted through an private adoption so there is very little that we can find on her b/family. Her adopted parents were Thorvolt and Cathine Nielson from Detroit, Michigan. She was told that her mother and b/family lived in Quebec Canada If this helps any my mother has coal black hair, green eyes, very light skin (in fact she burns every time she get out in the sun), has always been on the heavy side, and 5'1" in height. Please if there is any information out there for us we would love to know. My mother has been looking for her b/family for a long time now and I'm afraid that she is giving up. Plus my sisters and I would love to finally fill our empty one sided family tree!
