I adopted my stepdaughter last november after her bio-mom gave up her parental rights. In order to make things easier on my daughter we have allowed the maternal grandparents to have regular contact with her. We invite them to all her school and sports activities as well as allowing them to have her for family events and holiday stuff. Last week the grandmother asked to take our daughter to the beach for a few days and my husband and declined due to several factors we discussed. Now the grandmother is threatening to take this through the court system and I was wondering if she has any rights in PA after an adoption? Do we have anything to worry about and could this put my daughter once again in a situation of going in front of a judge? The other thing I am wondering, is do I have any obligation to continue to facilitate this relationship with her grandmother when we are being threatened?
