I have very sketchy details given hesistantly to me by my adopted grandmother whom has been the mother figure for me most of my life. I am not interested in interrupting anyone's life, but I would like to know what I "came from". It's something that always intrigues me. To know who I look like... where I get my sense of humor... and if I belong to a line of other artists or artistic minds.
Ok, I was born on October 25, 1979. I am 24 right now. I was born in Louisville, KY. I believe the hospital I was born in has changed to some other medical facility since. My biological mother's supposed last name is Fey. Possibly even Debbie or Deborah Fey.
My adopted parents, Bob & Sally Whittaker.
My father's mother, Mary Brown, supposedly knew someone who knew someone who was giving a baby up for adoption and set it up for Bob & Sally. Sally was adopted herself, and sadly died when I was about 5 years old. After my father remarried, our relarionship died and I was alienated by the stepmother, which made me ponder my roots even moreso, I suppose.
I have recently purchased a new house with my boyfriend and my grandmother lives with us. I work at a local pet store and design websites. I am also an artist. I would love to hear from anyone whom I might be related to!

Have you went to the local Library and looked up your birth ?
If you ask for the birth books it has orginal information for
birth mother's name. DO NOT TELL THE ANYONE IN THE
LIBRARY YOU ARE ADOPTED OR ARE LOOKING FOR THAT REASON
they will not let you see them if you do. I told them I was looking
for genealogical research and it worked fine. Ask for a range
of books from one year to another example (1960-1965) use
your birth name. Good Luck !

Also try the Ky birth index Mackie may be able to help you. I will also try to locate someone for you.
Hi, delphianxi!
This is my very first post and I hope that I can help. IIRC, the KY birth index can be searched by both the child's name and the mother's maiden name. If you have an amended birt certificate, then you may not find your name here. However, you seem to have some info about your bmom's name. If she gave birth to other children that she parented, then you may be able to find them. This would give you some leads to other names she may have used since the children would most likely be listed with their last names and not her maiden name. (Look them up by her maiden name though.) At some libraries, you can walk right up to the books and not have to reveal what you're looking for.
As someone else mentioned, the black books that contain the birth indices can be found at most libraries in KY.
I'm also providing you with a link to some KY vital stats.

Hope this helps.
