in 1999 my dad was having open heart surgery in houston tx ..when he told me that i was adopted ...he died the next morning ...it was several months before i started searching and realized just how many people was in the same situation....my mother refuses to tell me anything ...just says that i ought to quit digging till she is dead .....well i first wen to the hospital i was born at st francis cabrini in alexandria la ....they could find no birth records on me but did find records were i was transported from jefferson memorial after the car wreck in april 1969 the records said i was four months old...the date on my birth certificate is december 12 1968 ....but i also found the lil paper with my foot prints and they had december 14 .....i spoke to several people that were friends with my parents and said that they knew i was adopted ...that my parents had disapeered for two weeks and then showed back up with me .....i have black hair and dark complected ....indian or hispanic orgins.....i had one person that told me my birth father was from zwolle la but that was all they knew ....i met with him and the similarieties are unreal...but still not sure havent had blood test ...anyone with any info or sugestions please email me at remedies469@aol.com spammers please leave me alone i will also harrass you back.....i would be willing to anything illeagal or pay for info if it was real ....so con artist please leave me alone i will report you....it just makes me sick that there is so little we adoptees can do ....we have lawmakers that vote on laws pertaining to adoption that themselves have never been affected by adoption...i am 35 yrs old and still do not know who i am ....god bless you ...and any ideals would be greatly apreaciated
although I did email you, I'll also ask this too: Have you registered with the adoption reunion registries? I don't know them all...

[font=Arial]The Louisiana Adoption Registry is a registry established by the Department of Social Services to facilitate voluntary contact between adult adoptees, their birth parents and/or siblings.[/font]
[font=Arial]Who may register?[/font]
[font=Arial]You may register if you are over 18 and your adoption, your childs or your siblingҒs adoption was legally finalized in the State of Louisiana.[/font]
[font=Arial]How do I get on the registry?[/font]
[font=Arial]Contact the registry at (225) 342-9922 or 1-800-259-2456 and request a Voluntary Registry packet which will provide all the information necessary for registration. The process includes completion of an affidavit and a $25.00 fee. There is also a counseling requirement that must be met prior to voluntary release of any identifying information, but this is not required in order to register.[/font]
