I'm 42 & my DH will be 50. Unfortunately, we met later in life and tried for 3 years to conceive. Now we're facing what I've been told is a possible 2+ year wait, if at all, to be matched since we're looking for a caucasian newborn.
For those of you that adopted the first time after the age of 40, how long did you wait to be matched and did you get a newborn or older child? Domestic or International? Caucasian or trans-racial? Did you go through an agency or go independent and find your own bmother?
We've started our Home Study with an adoption advocate and now we have to decide which way to go and choose an (multiple) agency(s), if that's the way. We're not well off at all, we have a line of credit established that could pay for a domestic adoption, but not sure that an International one is in our reach, even if we did waiver on a newborn....
I need any and all constructive feedback (no hecklers please...this has been a hard enough road, I don't need to have to explain myself and why we're not being selfish to try to have a newborn "at our age"!)
Thanks
Kat

I am 44 and FH is 34 we tryed also to have a biochild of our own sens we have been togather I had 2 miscarreges much to our heart ache I found out earley this yr that biochildren for us will not happen. So we moved on and excepted what I thought would be just the 2 of us with vists from my 2 daughters from a previous marriege. But we are now on a journey of a life time. We began to look into adoption a while back then gave up on the idea but then God gave us a mircal. FHs brother and his girl friend came us last month and asked to adopte their unborn child that is due this coming Nov. So now here we are in the beginging of what I hope and pray will be a happy ending for all. We will be working with a private attorny and starting out with guardianship of the baby when he or she is released from the hopital. I would suggest to you that you explore you options and what would be best for the 2 of you. Good luck with everything you are in my thoughs and prayers. Bea
