One of the many decisions that this journey on the adoption road creates that my DH & I have made (well, ok...me) is that I'm going to try to breastfeed. I've started reading and know about drugs and herbs and supplimenters...
but no where have I ready that if you try to stimulate milk making in advance, how long can the milk be frozen!!!!
Does anyone know?
Thanks
Kat
I remember reading You can store breast milk in the freezer for up to 6 mths. At room temp for 6 hours and in the refrig for 5 days.

Hi
In a regular deep freezer it can actually be up to 1 year..some even say 2 years! In a refrigerator/freezer it is probably less time..more like six months...there is a chart/storage guidelines available on line..I will try to dig up the website..or you could ask the very knowlegable folks at the ABRW..I am sure they know where the chart is I am talking about! Nona Davis runs a mother to mother milk donation program and knows everything about freezing and storing breast milk...she is on the ABRW site also...
