We live in the Pittsburgh PA area, and will soon be waiting to adopt. We're making our final agency selection now, and completing home study, profile, letter, application, etc. We are not comfortable with the wait times, relinquishment times, long wait for court dates, etc. in PA (despite the recent changes to our laws), and have decided to expand our adoption search to an adoption-friendly state -- Texas.
Congratulations to all of you who mentioned that you have recently been matched or placed!! We hope to join you when the time is right for our baby to find us.
P.S.
See my post on "Adoption Support in PA" for information about a Pittsburgh Support Group.

Hi
CONGRATULATIONS!
We're from the Poconos and we just brought our 2nd baby home 2 1/2 months ago! She will be Christened this Sunday and we couldn't be happier! We adopted her at birth, from Kansas and I have to say, we had a VERY smooth process, starting with the adoption referral service we worked with, to the wonderful Birthmother that chose us, right down to our lawyer and the judge!
I sure hope your adoption process goes just as wonderful as ours did! Best of luck to you and your family. Adoption has been such a great experience for us and we thank God every day that we chose this path. It has given us 2 beautiful daughters that we wouldn't change for the world!
Keep us posted on your journey!
My husband and I are waiting for our son who currently resides in Guatemala. He was born on May 4 and we are in the final stages of PGN (Guatemalan court). We are hoping to bring him home soon. The wait these last two months has been the worse of the entire process. Where in PA are you located? I'm in central PA.
