Does anyone have an idea if there are scholarships that my daughter might apply for? She will be delivering her daughter in the next few weeks and dreams of attending the Kansas City Art Institute. It is a very expensive art school and she is very talented and has been accepted.
I just was wondering if there are organizations out there that like to help birthmothers make their dreams come true? Just seems someone would think these young ladies are incredibly deserving since they made a couple's dreams come true!
I know it's unethical to pay the birthmother, but it sure would be awesome to find there are scholarships available to them for being SO incredibly brave and special.
Thanks!

When I gave my son up I got it in my head that I would never mess up again.:) More fool me! I decided that I would buckle down and learn a trade.. I became a commercial artist..
Before that I tended to drop out of any kind of education.. I went to art school for one year and then quit.. I knew it all..
I knew nothing..
But I needed to make the decision to buckle down.. I needed to(should have made) the decision to give up my baby.. I needed to take control of what was happening..
Making her busy after she relinquishes may not work.. It took me about a year to get myself together.. Find a path to follow.
She may spiral off in the wrong direction if you try to steer her into something that you think is best.. No blame here I have a daughter and this must be terrible for you.
Also be very careful with this art school idea.. Some people are willing to pay for a baby.. Are willing to put money in a secret account..
That... IMO would be a very difficult issue to sort..

I know we can't get money for the baby. I guess I wasn't too clear. The baby's adoptive parents have already been chosen. No money changing hands of course!
I just thought since there is higher-ed money available for all kinds of accomplishments that perhaps some entity might see birthmothers as worthy recipients of scholarship funds.
Going to this school is my daughter's idea. It's incredibly expensive and I'd surely rather she went to a cheaper state school. Just trying to support her as much as I can.
Thanks for you post, and I hope you are doing well.
