HI there my wife and I were in your same situation a year ago..dont let all those inspections scare you! So far we have had 3 foster kids in our family since this past summer. It is a challenge but rewarding. Now we are in the process of trying to adopt our 2 year old. We are at the very begining stages. Where do you live? We got involved in the Foster Parent Assocation close to our home and its been great. A lot of experienced foster familes that gives support and advice. Let me know if you l would like some more information.
we adopted two little children, we lived in N.H. when we adopted the first baby I recommend you call the attorney we used, you can adopt a new baby, the baby will mosy likely be born in Arizona this lawyer has an Arizona connection with a birth mother attorney, expect it to be expensive. she will keep billing, just have to put a stop after you pay all bills and she keeps on sending a bill. Her name is Margaret Cunnane Hall she is in Milford N.H. They charge bithmother fees adoption lawyer in Arizona is expensive and N.H. attorney is also expensive. however if you can do this it is worth it we have two lovely daughters we adore them. also, I know a friend that called them and said she would take a baby but could only spend $5,000. and they worked with her because she said she would take a special needs baby. the baby was premature so the couple backed out and this woman stepped in and paid very little money and now has a healthy baby boy. Good luck. let me know if you need any other info. Lara
Hi, I live in Raymond, NH. My "son" is 6 and has lived with us since he was 2. We are waiting for a court date right now to terminate his bmom's rights. We have no friends or relatives in an adoptive situation and I wonder if anyone knows of any "support groups?" Where my son could meet other adopted children. The last time he talked to his bmom she ignorantly told him that when he got older he could live with her again. So he had lots of questions. I have a hard time retaining a "good" relationship with her because of these types of issues. He hasn't seen her in over a year and doesn't remember living with her. She moved to Bangor, ME last year, rarely calls, makes no attempt to visit, doesn't send letters etc. And yet will not sign termination paperwork. I guess I am also looking for support for myself. Don't get me wrong though, although it is sometimes difficult, being a mother to this wonderful little boy is the best thing in my life.Sorry so long,Dena
SOUnds tough for you and your little guy. I have four bio children and we are looking to adopt a sibling group of two. We finish our classes on Saturday and our application has been in four a couple of weeks.
As far as support groups... i have been looking in NH. The NHFPA website is a bit dated but if you call Casey Family Services, they have people around the state who are supposed to be in charge of spearheading support groups on specific cities/counties. Unfortunately, the lady in the Concord Area (which is where I am) Has not put togehter a group. I understand she is busy with her own children. I ahve spoken to her on the phone. I know that I would truly benefit from a foster/adoptive support group. I actually put together a list of names/addresses/emails of the people in my AE class and we are getting together after class this Sat for potluck and hope to keep in touch throughout our journeys. I am just a bit disappointed that there isnt anything out there for adoption/foster support. Maybe once i am more into this I will start on in Concord. If I do, I'll let you all know. :)

Weston School is located on Hanover Street in Manchester. You can actually see the school off from 93. I am not good with direction, so I would suggest mapquest. We will have childcare available that night for $2 per child. We have several agenda items to coaver that night. Its a great way to network with others. I truly has helped me, otherwise I would no be the president. Does that sound like a commercial?? :)
