You sent me a reply awhile ago and I am still searching for my Farley family. I live in Missouri don't have access of a Philadelphia's telephone directory. Anyway, I was born 1/25/46 so my real mother should still recall she had me the long lost daughter there at 70th & Woodlawn Ave. Golly, I might even have half brothers and sisters? My email is starlight_afar2003@yahoo.com if you would like to correspond. Its not fair the Law of PA will not let Adoptees have a copy of their original birth certificate.
Sincerely,
Pauline (my name was changed by the Orphan Courts in Media, Pa in 1950 at my adoption)
Hi,What is Isrr to register with what? The last time I sent for a copy of my birth certificate I only got the redone one with my adopted parents names given, I don't want that. I have a older one dated 1950 that gave more info, the time of my birth, including the hour and seconds. And the location. The next one didn't have any of that information, just Philadelphia, PA and the adopted parents as my parents (baloney). Has something changed since 1995 on getting a copy of an original birth certificate being I am an adoptee?Thank you,Pauline
Hi Pauline,I am on the search for my husbands birthparents also. I just printed out the form for the issr and sent it in. You can find this at www.issr.net . It is free. I also filled out a paper from the vital records dept. in pa. It allows you to see if your birthparents registered to allow you information. That cost $10.00. I have found alot of information from this link www.members.tripod.com/rombergers/main.htmlI hope some of this helps. Good Luck in your search.Vicki

HI,
You can send a letter to the Delaware County Adoption Court (I believe that is the correct name) and request your file to be opened. They will then send you two application forms, one is for non-identifying information regarding your adoption and the other is for identifying informaition. There is a cost for each but it is not a lot. I filled out both applications and don't think I paid much more than $400 USD. Once you fill out those, they give your case to a social worker who will get the information for you. Once they submit to you the non-id info, they will contact you and verify if you are still interested in getting the rest of the information. If so, then they will work on finding your bio family and get them to sign confidentiality waivers in order to get the information to you. At least it worked for me. I filled out both applications and it did not take more than six months for them to find my bio mom. I received these news around the 3rd of this month and am still waiting for contact with bio mom. I hope this information is of help to you and others.
Hi, I agree with the suggestions to register with issr.net and to put a letter on file with the court as well as with vital records. Also, you can look up Farley on www.whitepages.com, Go there, type in the last name and city Philadelphia, State PA, then it brings up about 40 Farley's. Not too many to try. Best times to call are evenings and Sundays. You usually reach people then.
