I'm trying to find out how long does it normally take to have a homestudy completed. I completed my MAPP class 8/22 and I keep hearing the same thing. I'm trying to find the time to complete your homestudy. The last thing that I've heard is that they can't find the FDLE background check but they have the FBI but they don't want me to go back in and have my prints run again.
Does anybody have any suggestions as to what I can or should do to help the process along? I would really love to get this moving further along in the process.

I'm not in Florida, so maybe this won't be a useful reply. My homestudy took 9 months to complete. My social worker was so backlogged, that she would only work on homestudies that were most urgent (that had a child matched). She assured me when I would call to see if mine was done yet, that if an appropriate child needed a home, my unfinished homestudy would not prevent the match. Finally when a match was made, she tried to finish my homestudy real quick, but there were some things I needed to have done and I had not known about those things, so they gave me a temporary license so the child got to move in promptly.
I don't understand how they could match you with a child if you don't have a home study. I thought they used the home study to match your strengths with the needs of the child.
Thanks for all of the posts. My worker did say for me to call the worker of the child and see if I can get some more information about the child that I'm interested in. When I get to talk to the worker I will also give them my workers name and # and see if they will talk to each other and maybe work something out.
