I was born in ouchita parish may 14 1967
born Rodney Joe smith (maybe)
I was adopted by Jimmy and Ella Traylor some time after
I was taken by the state.
my b-mom tryed to contact me several time but was turned away by my adopted dad. please help me find my b-mom and or family
If every adoptee from the state of Louisiana wrote a letter asking for the state to open our files, do you think it would have an impact? So many other states are doing it now.

Its worth a try. I don't know why they are so strict. I did find a judge that was willing to look over my records to see if she would open them and she called back a week later and said she can't find any records of my adoption anywhere. She then tried to find the judge that my dad said handled the adoption and it turns out he doesn't exist either. I'm lost now. I don't know what else to do.
joe, have you requested a copy of your non-identifying information (yours, but is about your first family) from the state? That might help. Ask your parents for copies of your records. They have them... Trust me.

Who do I ask for the non identifing info? Thats what the judge was going to give me if she decided not to open the whole thing but she said I don't have any papers that she can find. She thinks there is something fishy about the whole thing.
My A parents won't tell me anything. All they said was a judge McCormick handled my case and it was in W. Monroe. They supossedly don't have any papers and don't remember anything else. The judge checked the surrounding Parishes for my papers and she said they aren't anywhere. I'm beginning to think I was a blackmarket adoption. My older sister remembers quite a bit, she was 12 when I got there. But my parents recollection and hers are two totally different stories.
go to this link
its about getting registered for the reunion registry and getting non id info (sorta). there's a bit of info there.

I hafta go out but frankly, I would rely a bit more on your sisters's memory than your parents insecurity.
Good luck
