Dear Moderators,
I understand that your job is perhaps one of the hardest jobs on earth! Especially with such a huge site--so many postings--and so many members I am sure you have a very big job dealing with it all!
As a member I sometimes wonder who you are? Where you are and what you consider to be the most important things you focus on while moderating this website...? It would be sort of nice to know what happens when we push the button that says "Report this to the Moderators" and to know more about the people who are reading the reports... Sometimes it feels like a mystery who is doing what on here?
I understand that there are moderators who do not post very often....so we never really get to know who you are.... It would fun to get to know all of you and so that is what I hope to see on this thread...just an ability to know the people behind it all and what your relationship to adoption is?
So here is a TEA Party just for you guys.... Let us know more about you....let us know something about your job....and let us put a personality with the name!
Thanks,
Anna

Everyone knows meso I didnŒt post :) but Ill answer!
As a member I sometimes wonder who you are?
Brandy Җ Adoptee, birthmom, foster mom and hopeful adoptive parent
Where you are
I live in a small farming community outside of Dekalb Illinois.
what you consider to be the most important things you focus on while moderating this website...?
I try to focus on fairness while enforcing the Terms of Service. I try to keep an open mind while reading and see things from the members perspective. Sometimes I am successful, and sometimes IҒm not.
It would be sort of nice to know what happens when we push the button that says "Report this to the Moderators"
An email is dispatched to all of the moderators on the Moderating Team that gives the URL of the thread, the URL of the offending post and the message that you type in. It also gives the email address associated with the account that reported the post.
and to know more about the people who are reading the reports... Sometimes it feels like a mystery who is doing what on here?
It may always be a mystery!
Unfortunately, because of the way moderators are treated at times, the majority of our team likes to stay behind the sceneswhich is understandable. It cuts down on conflict!
The only downsideŅI get blamed for absolutely EVERYTHING that is done on the forumsLOL
just an ability to know the people behind it all and what your relationship to adoption is?
Lets seeŅ
Kiwi was adopted in a step parent adoption.
I am a adoptee, birthmom, foster mom and hopeful adoptive parent
Then there is one other adoptee
Two adoptive parents (one with grown children and one with younger kids)
I know its not what you wantedbut I donŒt know that any of the other moderators would feel comfortable outing themselves on the forum
Good morning!
I wasn't on yesterday... I didn't want to give anyone else my cold!
I know some moderators are shy and most people must know something about me by now.
I am actually the administrator of the forums and I work from the Adoption.com office. All the rest of the moderators are volunteers.
Aside from having many friends and family memebers who are touched by adoption, I am too touched by adoption. I was adopted by my step dad at birth and this year, for the first time in my life had contact with my birthfather and my two half sisters!
