Figuring out where to start

I'm looking for information on how to obtain adoption records for my Grandmother. She was born in Toronto in 1901, adopted in 1907/8 and died in 1996.

I am not familiar enough with Ontario adoption laws to know if these records would be open by now or where I would go to check. I would appreciate anyone being able to get me started.

Since the birth is over 100 years old, I would suggest contacting Ontario Vital Stats,

to order the original birthcertificate
