I really wouldn't doubt it. I went to the court house to get a copy of the child protection investigations on my parents before I was adopted, and they said that they were discarded after 7 years.
It's heartbreaking to know that a chunk of your life was recorded on paper, and was just thrown away.

i was told by the baptist hospital in pensacola that they are destroied after 15 years there .. this really sucks!!! shelly b_34@yahoo.com
HI Nicky
Yes it is true,,, and I for one am really shocked it is the truth.....my hubby was born at Mounds Park in 1958 his b mom stayed at FCH in St Pete..maybe we should compare notes..by the way here is a link to our web page if you have time take a look,, my hubby's b mom had six other children after him, the first of those born in or about 1968 , some of her children she herself adopted... so you never know......if you come from a large " blended" family.... maybe you are one of the children she adopted ??,,, anyway good luck with your search,, it gets so frustrating doesn't it? Time for change in adoption laws in Florida,, time for atleast unrestricted access to OBC"s at maturity,,,

MoundPark Hospital , in St. Pete, just informed me that they destroy all birth records after ten years. Could this be true??
Yes, it is true, I live in Indiana and before I found my bmom, I asked the adoption registry if I could get my hosptial record from when I was born. Destroyed! I should have known this as I used to work in the accounting department of a hospital in Indianapolis and remember going down and getting records ready to destroy after so many years, so it isn't even a cover up, someone just saying they are to throw you off track, they are destroyed.
