Share your childs heritage in their books! Guatemala

Thanks for sharing. I am excited about the new area. I am new to scrapbooking. I have never taken any "classes" or anything, but I definitely want to make some albums, and the Lifebook is the first priority... we don't even have a referral yet, but I am hoping to Load it up with some stuff from the country and then about the baby as soon as we get a referral. Do you know how to make/find worry dolls? I think I may have some that are magnets that I got from a retail store... they just looked "Guatemalan" to me. Even though a worry doll might not fit in the book, I figured I could actually USE one through the adoption roller coaster and save it in a memento box or something! **** Also, Will you have a general thread that maybe talks about some good scrapbooking websites or books? I just found this site about making the worry dolls: [url]http://jesseanderson0.tripod.com/worrydolls.html[/url] Making them may be a bit thick for a book - but that is a personal preference thing - but their are options to make it less lumpy over all. Here is a quick one - get some of the craft foam and make a 'frame' around the page - like a shadowbox effect (there are also memory pockets and other holders you can buy to do the same thing) Watch for more threads to be added soon, scrapbook books, ideas, where to start, 'terms' to know and more! I have two kids adopted from Guatemala and have completed a lifebook for my daughter. (I just started the one for my son, who is younger.) Anyway, on one of the pages in my daughter's book, I used worry dolls. I adhered them to the page by sewing them on, bringing the needle up through the back of the page, draping the thread over the body and then piercing the paper again on the other side of the body. Then I just tied a knot on the back side of the page. (You could also use glue dots.)
