Have you contacted the Vermont Adoption Registry? They can help. That's what I have done. They will send you a consent for release of information form. When you have returned this, they will search to see if your ** also has one on file. If she does, then contact can be initiated. In my case, my ** did not file a consent for release form. But that wasn't the end... The woman at the registy had me write a letter to the judge at the probate court where my adoption was handled. Basically you are requesting release of your identifying information. Before any determination is made by the court as to whether or not to grant this request, the judge authorizes the registry to do a confidential search in an effort to contact the birthmother to see if she will consent to release of info. If she does, then you can be connected. I am currently playing the waiting game. The woman at the registry has told me she thinks she has found my **, but has been unable to reach her by phone. (they don't leave vm messages...ugh). Hope this is helpful to you! Good luck
