Hi,
We are the people chosen last October at a match meeting to adopt 13 yo twin girls from Ohio. Look down through the postings for past history.
Well - they finally finished the inter-state paperwork. We will be flying to Ohio next Thursday (3/31) and will finally meet the girls on Friday (4/1). Yep! That's right, we are meeting on April Fool's day. Lot's of excitement.
We hear the girls are most interested in having a new big sister and horses (we have 3). But apparently they are OK that a set of parents and 2 brothers come with the big sister and horses. LOL.
I will post in April after the meeting.

Hello all,
:D :D
We have finally met!!
Thursday, we went for a private dinner with the foster parents after arriving from CA.
Friday, we met the twins and their social worker along with the rest of the foster family. All went well and we spent the rest of the day going to a park, meeting their GAL, having dinner, answering and asking questions. :)
Saturday, we met their therapist and spent another day waling around malls, Chuckie Cheese, talkings, etc. (It was raining and very windy so outside activities were not an option.) It was interesting trying to teach the concept od "window shopping".
Today, they took us to their church to introduce us and we are spending the day together. Currently they are watching Father of the Bride II with DH right behind me.
Tomorrow (Monday) we meet their teachers and the special ed teacher (they have IEPs) and then they have permission to leave school early to an afternoon and goodbye dinner with us.
Tuesday - we fly home - alone - for now.
Our next visit will be a weekend visit Flying on April 22 and 25 with visiting on Saturday and Sunday, April 23 and 24.
Then the SW is trying to set up a visit to California in Mid-May over a weekend. Moving will be held off until school gets out. Their last day is June 4.
So far - so good. ;) :)

Yes, I DID post on that site while I was in the search for our kids. There is nothing like the CA Kids Connection site for impatient waiting parents. Those poor folks in CA have absolutely insane waits, even for straight foster placements. It is just a tragedy how hopelessly overwhelmed that system is. Thank God I found my babies!
The twins finally visited CA in mid-May and had a great time. The highlight was the Monterey Bay Aquarium.
When they went home things got strange with the foster mom. Then we hear that they are breaking the match because the foster mom has decided 10 months after the original decision and after $10,000 travel expense to DH and I that she wants to keep them after all.
Done. Moving on.
