Anita, I was going through the threads here and see you got a conditional referral in December. Any updates on how the TPR, etc. is going?
Hi Robin, Sorry to say but absolutely NOTHING has been done. I still don't have a TPR scheduled. My attorney in Panama wanted to get it held in Panama City where he seems to know some people but, apparently the director of DNA wants Angel's TPR to be held in the province he was born - Chorrera. So, not having any connections out there, things aren't really moving anywhere. I don't understand why they have to have the TPR there being that Angel has been in this same orphanage in Panama City since he was 9 mos. old and he's now 5 years old and no one from his "biological" family has been in contact or showed any interest. You'd think this Director of DNA would want to see this boy have a home instead of having govt. money spent at an orphanage. My fear is that I'm not successful in Panama and then who will adopt an older child. I have some contacts in Panama who are trying to see what they can do but, nothing thus far. Wish I had better news to share for everybodies sake. It really is hard knowing who he is and where he is and that nobody wanted him until I showed up and now I can't go there and bring him home to be loved and nurtured with a bright future. I have faith that there's a bigger plan and I am real clear that it's not on my time plan. I hope to get some news soon and have faith that my agency along with some of my contacts in Panama will make this happen.

Aw, Anita. I'm so sorry things are stalled. I hope your contacts can light a fire under their patooties!
