Sometimes I think I am the only family from Indiana.
We are still going through the thought process of who to go with. We are already foster parents(4yrs with the system is enough) and are licensed to adopt, but the agency thing just scares me. Does anybody know of an agency in Fort Wayne or South Bend? My husband and I were first going to through the state, but nobody ever calls you back, even though we already foster parents with a completed home study, so now we want to go with a private open adoption, all I know is I am not getting any younger!!!!!(LOL) :p
Please feel free to share your experiences and let me know how things are going.
Hi Jonsey!I'm not in Indiana anymore, but we lived there when we adopted our son in 2003. Kirsh & Kirsh were our attys in IN (we had a second in South Dakota, where the bmom lived at the time). We did an independent adoption, so it was a little different for us than it will be for you. But, I can tell you that they were very good to work with. I enjoyed them both very much, as well as their staff. We had no problems at all with the adoption and they were always very helpful with any questions we had! Best wishes to you on your future adoption!!

We have been thinking about using Kirsh. Could you share with us what the approx fees are for the transracial plan? We are also looking at 2 agencies Loving Option in Bluffton & A Bond of Love in Zionsville. We're still not sure what to do - who to use. any opinions? We are trying to figure out the fees & what we can do & with whom.
Thanks
Marlene
Wow. A lot of Kirsch and Kirsch people. We were leery of the lawyer route (although K&K came highly recommended) and are using St Elizabeth's-Coleman in Indianapolis. I chose St E's because they're the local Catholic Charities affiliated adoption agency. You might check w/ the CC office in Ft Wayne, if you want to go w/ an agency. Being Catholic is not a requirement. Stork Watcher
Hopeful3 (Carrie) what area of IN are you in? and can you pm me with what agency you are using?? We have just moved into the FW area, and are looking for an agency here. Have a Michigan homestudy but dont think any of the agencies around here will accept it and will have to do it again. Although Loving Option did sound like they would use it but would also have to charge for a new one (interesting huh). Kerri
