There is one Jackston, a man b. 1889, on the 1930 census, located in Ithaca (Tompkins cnty) listed, with native American heritage. He is listed as married (no wife listed on there), as as living on Genesee St Ithaca, and working in manufacturing/ automobile polisher. And there are also two people listed on the SSDI who died in Santa Clara county CA., (a man b. 7/15/1904, and a woman, b. 2/27/1904).
Hope this is of some help. You might also want to post on D's NY pg: http://members.aol.com/bmom2amy/NYSearchPosts.html
and also at http://www.nyadoption.org/
The NY state registry is now free. You sould register with the state for BOTH Non-id and Identifying information. It would probably be fastest, and give you a agency contact if you request the Non-id come from the Agency! Good Luck!

(suggestion) check only the first 4 boxes if you choose, NOT the box in the note
If you check the Note box, your info will come from the state & most likely take much, much longer (1yr or more on average).
