Hi...
I have a high level of frustration today...
We were scammed by a family in Illinois... they were accepting support from us and at least 3 other places at once. I was to put a stop to what this couple is doing but everyone I talk to says there is no law that's been broken. Can anyone help me find a statute in Illinois that says it's illegal to accept support from more than one source at a time?

There is no law that indicates that in Illinois. Your only recourse would be a fraud charge, provided she was doing the scamming while she wasnt pregnant.
Sadly, prospective birthparents can receive support from as many potential adoptive parents as sheҒd like, because its considered a charity҅thats why its important to work with an agency or attorney who has a means of checking these types of things out.
IҒm sorry that this wont be the answer youre looking for҅
Did she place with one of the other couples or at all? If not, maybe a civil case is the best route to go, with the other couples as co-complainants.

Thanks Brandy...
One of the attny's involved said there have been cases in IL where the state prosecuted and ordered either restitution or jail time, but she wasn't able to site the statute.
I have no idea if she's placed the child with anyone... her due date is July 27th... don't know if the baby's been born yet.
The agency we're working with said it is criminal fraud to acept supprt from more than one source. I guess without a statute number we're SOL.
I just want to cry. These people are deliberatly crushing people's hearts.
