OK...I have a question. I have two AA children, age 3 and 4. Lately they have both been getting teeny tiny little bumps on them. They are mostly on their noses, necks, shoulders and torso. I feel bad. What am I doing wrong? What is this? Has anyone else had this? I don't know what to do.
Please help if you can!
Thank you! :)

Sounds like heat rash to me...my daughter's get heat rash every Summer....drives them nuts.
Prickly Heat-Heat rash is a skin rash that usually occurs on the back, neck, or chest. The rash looks like tiny, pink bumps. Occasionally, some are pinpoint-size water blisters. The rash can be itchy or feel prickly.
To get rid of it use Hydrocortisone cream. Avoid hydrocortisone ointments. Calamine lotion is another option.
Hope this helps :) ,

Could be a heat rash but should go away quickly if it is. I would be apt to think it is an allergy/sensitivity to a food or product. My daughter had a similar reaction several times when I used Aveeno baby wash when she was a baby. It took me several trials to determine the cause. Every time the reaction was the same. She had the same reaction to both peaches and pears as a 7-13 month old. She is now three and can eat both.
My son has eczema (and we suspect many food allergies). It developed at about 2-3 months, which pediatrician and dermatologist said is typical, though many many people, including children, get it later. His skin looked similar with very tiny white raised bumps all over just before he presented with eczema.
If you use hydrocortisone, I would recommend mixing it in your hand, 1/2 HC with 1/2 lotion (we use Cetaphil), rather than beginning with full strength. Good luck.
Thank you! I appreciate the advice. I too thought it might be heat related, since it has been a bigger issue in the summer and my son gets it worse. My daughter wears shorter shorts and shorter sleeves usually than him. The bumps are super tiny and the same color as their skin. They seem to go away in a few days, although they reappear periodically. I don't think it's an allergy only because, they have really been an issue this summer and not the whole time we've had the kids. We use all the same products on them that we always have and their diet is the same. I'll try the cream and see what happens!
Thanks again!
