Hello from St Louis

DH and I live in St. Charles and are currently waiting to be matched with an older child through Cherokee Nation. Your son is adorable, great pic! Are you currently waiting now for a match from the Ukraine for a little girl? I usually attend the St. Louis RESOLVE group I just posted about recently, but was not able to this month or last because my work hours changed temporarily. It's not a big group, some months only 4 show up and some there is about 12 or so. I'm not sure what the deal is with St. Louis, it's been very hard to find others who have adopted that want to connect. I don't believe anyone from the group has used Small World Adoption Foundation. I remember one woman adopted a little girl from Russia. Most of the others are involved with domestic infant adoption. The RESOLVE leader even told us that Kirkwood is like the capital of the US for Chinese adopted children. I know people around here are adopting, I just don't know where they are or why they're hiding out. If you asked your agency would they connect you with other locals who are adopting? We tried that and there was only one other couple near us and they didn't want us to contact them. Anyway, just thought I would say hello and let you know that someone from your area is around here. If you find out about any other local adoption groups let me now. Good luck finding your daughter!

i am from st. louis as well. i have adopted my son who is now 4 (4months at placement as a foster child and adopted at 2.5y/o). i am in the process of adopting my 7 mo foster daughter. i do go to a monthly support group but it is faith based. if you are interested, pm and i will give you the details. we meet very near u.city. most of the group has adopted through foster care or private infant adoption, but one family just brought their son home from russia this spring.

Hi :) Well I am Canadian and I adopted two boys from St. Louis County in 1999, so I guess I count as a Missouri Adoptive parent as well. At least it does when we are fighting that dang governor for our subsidies ;) Welcome! Jen

I live in Jefferson City, but I have not adopted yet. DH and I are impatiently waiting for a child. We are pursuing domestic adoption. We are also in the process of being licensed as foster parents. I know I don't have a child yet, but wanted to say hi. Shay

We live in St. Charles and will be travelling to Ukraine in November. We are hoping to adopt a little girl under age 3.

We just got a travel date to Ukraine, December 21st!!!! Hopefully we'll have met our new daughter by Christmas Day

Nice to meet ya sallcr, we are also in St. Charles and have just been matched with a now 13 y/o girl from Oklahoma. Our visits are going great so far and we're waiting for ICPC to be completed so we can bring her home. Great news jmchowat! Do you know anything about the child you will be adopting? Congrats on the upcoming Dec. date, hope it goes by quickly.

I live in Maryland Heights. We adopted my son from Russia last year from Small World. We are now planning on adopting from China and starting when I turn 30 which is about 9 months away. I am very active on the Russia board and had no idea that there were state specific forums. Congratulations on getting your travel dates! That is so exciting.
