Hi. I am new to this board. Here's my stituation:I am happily married to a wonderful man. We have two beautiful children. Anyway, here's the shocker: We have an open relationship and I recently had sex with my husband's best friend. Yes, it was uprotected and little did I realize at the time that it was my fertile period. We just got so caught up in it that it wasn't even mentioned. Now I am 4 days late for my period and I have taken many HPT's and they have all been neg. I am so mad at myself for not being responsible! But there's nothing I can do about that now. I just wish I knew if I'm pregnant or not. I seem to have a lot of the symptoms, but I keep getting a neg. test result. Does anyone have any advice for me? Any advice will be greatly appreciated!

Maybe you could go to your doctor's office & have them do a blood test to see if you are pregnant. My daughter did this recently when she was stressed about whether she was pregnant or not. She got the results back the next day. That way you will know for sure one way or another. Good luck to you!

Thanks guys! Thanks for not judging me. I know a lot of people don't agree with our lifestyle and I appreciate the fact that no one has tried to lecture me for my irresponsible behavior. I am going to make an appointment with the doctor. I took another hpt today and it was neg. again. Thanks again. I do appreciate it.
Sam I am sure that right now your head is spinning.
A blood test is a probably the best way to find out if you are pregnant.
If you turn out to be pregnant this is a great place to get support.
We are NOT here to judge.
If you and your husband are comfortable with your lifestyle then by ALL MEANS it is YOUR life and NO ONE HAS THE RIGHT TO JUDGE!
You may be surprised that there may be other people who have been in your same situation.
By the way...if you have had sex with your husband in the last several days prior to having sex with his friend or if you had sex with him a few days after having sex with his friend it may be possible that the baby (if you are pregnant) is your husbands.

Thank you guys for being so nice! It makes me feel better knowing that I can come here for support. I have not started my period yet. I am just about a week late. Neg. hpt's. I don't know what to think. I guess I'll just wait and see what happens. If I am preg. my husband and I will love and raise the child just like our other two! Thanks for your support!
Technically, there is only ONE DAY a month when a woman can get pregnant. If you are a week late, the over the counter pregnancy tests should be coming out positive...a blood test can detect pregnancy 2-3 weeks of being pregnant. How exciting! I don't want to ask a horribly personal question, but you mentioned that if you are pregnant, then you and your husband will raise the baby with your other two. But what if.....you know. Are you going to tell the best friend if he happens to be the biological father?

Yes!! Of course I would tell him if he is the father. It's just that he lives about 6 hours away from us and he is a very successful lawyer. I wouldn't expect him to quit his practice or anything to come live closer to us. I guess I should have explained that earlier. So, if I turn out to pregnant, I will tell him and see what develops from there. By the way, I still haven't gotten my period so I went for a blood test today. I will find out in the morning one way or the other!
Hi everybody! Whew-I got a call from my dr. this afternoon and my serum hcg test came back....NEG.! I don't know why I haven't gotten my period yet, but he said to wait one month and if I haven't gotten it by then he will investigate. I have learned a very valuable lesson.
