We just did an development assessment through the school district on our son last Thursday. I got the results back today and there is a hand written note on there that says 26% overall. Anyone got any idea what this means? Does it mean he's in the 26th percentile for his age range.
He has been home for almost 4 years, he was 4 in April. He's pretty much at 3 or 4 for everything, advanced with speech and building but behind with writing.
There is no reference on there as to what we should do from here on out. Any ideas? I would like to find out what we need to do before he starts kindergarten next year. I did not grow up in this school system, so I am at a bit of a loss.

Jane,
Every assessment report will be unique to the child and the school district. I am an Education Professor with my PhD in special education. If you would like to email me more specific questions about your report I would be willing to go through it with you. My email address is mrozen@buffalo.edu.

Hi Jane,
I am catching up on the posts... Have you heard anything about Dr. Gindis and his center in NYC? Their web cite is www.bgcenter.com. They do free consults over the phone. I hope this helps.
