Hey Everyone!!!!
I have been lurking around the boards for a while reading and learning a LOT from everyone..I am in the very beginning stages (about to start PRIDE classes) so I will definitely have pointed questions in the near future!!!

I do have a question...where do you find the meaning to all the abbreviations I see (IEP, FAS, RAD, etc)? Is this something I will learn over the course of my PRIDE training?
Thanks for all you advice!!!!and laughter:)
Here's the ones I know that you listed...
Individual Education...something, lol
Reactive Attachment Disorder
Fetal Alcohol Syndrome
here's another one...
Oppositional Defiant Disorder
I saw a more evolved list on these boards but I can't remember where.
I have/had Social Anxiety Disorder. I think it's greatly reduced now. I'm no longer on meds for it. (Except Xanax, but that's for the every so often attacks...not regularly. I've had a 30-day supply last me most of a year.)

Thanks for the info..seems like there should be someone that says "pay attention..there's gonna be a test later"...;)
IEP = Individualized Education(al) Plan for students recieving special education services. I am a special ed teacher and we have our own set of jargon...SED, BD, ED, OT/PT, it goes on and on.
I offer my services as a translator if you need help in that area.
I was going to address the IEP but I see that MargieMe has beat me to it! I'm a special education teacher also and yes we do have our own language it seems. But just as MargieMe said if you ever need to know........just ask (I'm more than willing to help)!
