There seems to be a fair amount of Kentuckians on this site... Why doesn't anyone post in here?
I would feel much closer to people who are dealing with the same laws and paperwork as I am.
We are scattered amongst different programs and I think members are primarily posting in a forum specific to their country program. I would love for this forum to be more active. I look forward to hearing all about your journey and helping when I can. I can *always* support!
Are you adopting domestically or internationally? And where in the good ol' state of Kentucky are you located? I am in Louisville. ;)

I am also in Louisville!! I too wish there was more activity on this board wether you are internationally or domestically adopting.
If nothing else just to chit chat!
I am so happy to see some activity here. I am here in Louisville also. We are adopting domestically and actually working with a agency which deals strictly with KY adoptive parents and KY bmothers.
I'll try to remember to check here more often. I do enjoy connecting with other Kentuckians! We have a son through domestic adoption. I live in Shelbyville. What stage are you in your adoption road?
Hi all,
We are in Elizabethtown (like the movie:) ), KY. We just brought home our son from Guatemala.

Hi everyone. I am a frequent lurker, infrequent poster. We have a 3 week old baby we adopting through private domestic adoption--our first child. We spent 18 months in the Kaz program and did our dossier twice so we are familiar with international adoption as well. We live in southern KY. I love talking with other adoptive families, will try to post more often!
mari_beth,
Did you complete your adoption in Kaz? I have friends who have been working on a Kaz adoption for over a year now with no success. They are hitting roadblocks at every turn.
We did not complete our Kaz adoption, we also had many, many setbacks. We were asked to adopt our daughter the same day that we were to decide on a refferal from Kaz. We decided to let the Kaz referral go and pursue the domestic adoption. Kaz children are beautiful but the rules are changing so much and it seems to be even more difficult to adopt from there. Best wishes to your friends! It is true that the wait is worth it in the end! I thank God every day for our beautiful daughter!
Congratulations to Maribeth and Tina! How old is your son from Guatamala? How long did the process take for you?

Hi SadieAnn,
Our son is 9 mos. old. The process took us a year, but that's with doing the homestudy, changing adoption agencies and totally re-doing the dossier. From referral to coming home it took 5 mos.
Nice to meet everyone! What county is General Butler in? Does DHs come to the event also?
