I have been on the search boards for the last 10 years and have finally met the daughter I gave up for adoption when I was 16. She found me and we met for the first time 3 nights ago. It was awesome and she seems like she wants to be a part of the family. I am just having major anxiety after the reunion. She is anxious to meet everyone and I am excited for it but i just want all to go well. She is a beautiful young lady and I want to be very respectful of her feelings.Anita
That is so exciting news... :D Enjoy the visit.. Let's us know how it goes... :) How old is your son? Let's hope his family is happy about the Reunion... :) I know I will be with my kids.. :D I am an adoptive mom that is NOT insecure with my kids birthfamilies... ;) :D

Scoobymom/Anita....I glad that you posted here....you should shout it out to the world!! No worries!! Actually, he and I have been IMing all weekend with the blessings of his parents....what a great kid!! He's so much like me, yet so himself!! I can't wait until next weekend!!! Thanks to everyone....Danielle
How wonderful!! My b-mom was also 16 when she had me and placed me. We have been reunited 23 years. I to wanted to get to know the family and they were very good about letting me do it all in my time. I was never a seacret on my moms side of the family. That helped. I was to some extent on my dads but not enough to make much of a difference. Get used to the nerves my b-mom said it took some time for them to go away. I had them too. Remember she has nerves as well. They get mixed with excitemnt as well.. Have a great time getting to know each other again.
Your birthdaughter sounds as anxious as mine. I have to remind her that we must take our reunion one step at a time as there are other people we must consider (mainly her aparents as they are not very hapy I have come into the picture). As a matter of fact, even though I've been in contact with them and they have given her all of my info, she is hesitant to tell them that we have reunited and have been e-mailing daily. Remember, it's hard to "take it slow" when you are young. I hope you have a wonderful "in person" reunion. I can't wait.
Good luck
