In addition to the new name for the ministry which oversees the NAC, the Yahoo boards have posted some updates.

First, for those who were unsuccessful in thier referals in 2005 will get appointments in early 2006, most likely January through March. They will begin accepting new dossiers in January.

Second, for those waiting for a date, those will be scheduled starting in April. They are also going to schedule fewer families at the NAC each day.

Now, none of this is official. I thought I would relay this info for the benefit of this board. If anyone has info which rebukes or supports this, please share it with us.

Personally, it looks as though we have plenty of time to work on dossier #3. Fortunately, we no longer dwell on this pending adoption as it has been so long and has such small prospects (even with a registration number). It is amazing that my wife and I have not given up, especially with family and friends saying that we are waisting time and money. As difficult it is to defend our actions with others, we slowly press forward.

I hope your information is correct. My husband and I have been working towards our adoption since January. Our dossier was taken to Ukraine on Sept 9th, but wasn't translated in time to get into the NAC by their surprise cut off on the 19th. According to our facilitator, our dossier is ready to be turned in as soon as the NAC begins accepting them again. She also believes the NAC will start accepting dossiers again in January.

Don't give up. Things will work out. As far as friends and family telling you you're wasting time and money, unless they've been down this road, it's my experience they don't really understand why we keep pushing forward. I wish you and your wife the best of luck. Hopefully by this time next year we'll be reading about the addition to your family.
