Hey all:) just wondering if anyone has had any experience
With finding out they had a different birth name that was
Recorded in adoptive records? Like say Robert George was recorded on original birth certificate but mother actually named him Allan king? I've been told that theres been actual intentional mistakes to hide identities....
Hi Linny,
What I have seen is that a baby will be unnamed, say baby boy Smith, he is then placed in a foster home who must of course call him something, so they end up giving him a first name. Then when the adoption paperwork is filed it will say in the matter of baby boy Smith aka Robert Smith.
Pretty much depends on the situation in any individual placement and who all is involved.
However there were agencies who either highly encouraged or forced pregnant mothers to use an alias while in the home and during the process which led to legal documents being signed and filed with inaccurate information. Depended on the home, the decade and a number of other factors.
