Anyone know how long it is taking the INS in atlanta to send out the I-171H once all paperwork has been sent in and fingerprints have been taken.

I am not sure how long it is taking now...but last summer they were great!!! We got our approval very quickly!

This was back in May-June, but once they rec'd our hs, we got our I171h in 3 weeks. I hope they are still moving that fast!!!
May I ask what part of AL your from? We are also from AL, (SE). What country are you adopting from? We just adopted our beautiful son from Guatemala! :)

We live in Birmingham, but I am orginally from NC..so yes, Tar Heel in Alabama. We are also adopting afrom Guatemala (Karina is 16 mos and Cooper is 5 mos) We are out of PGN and just waiting for Pink

We had to transfer our case from Chicago last summer on a special needs child who was ready to come home in India *as* we moved states. Once they recieved our updated homestudy, they re-issued and re-cabled our approval to Delhi on the same day. I found the officer to be extremely understanding and cooperative, albiet a tad surprised that I managed to track her contact information down.
