Our homestudy was delayed because of needing to make modifications (basically, my SW got authority to override a comment not agreed with in the homestudy).
During this time, I've been keeping in contact with a SW in Texas (hubby and I live in Oklahoma) regarding a sibling group of 3 children.
She still, to this date, wants our homestudy ASAP upon completion.
Am I jumping in and just hoping beyond all hope, or does it sound like we must be a very serious consideration for the worker?
We did make a website for her to view about us while we're waiting for this to get done, and she still wants the HS, after 2 weeks of emailing back and forth.
What do you all think?
Also, the interstate compact...anyone have experience with that? Say if we were matched with these children...would all visits have to be in Texas and then they get to come home to Oklahoma, or will we have Texas visits, and then still have to have Oklahoma visits when it's done?
Any input would be appreciated. I am not the one to get excited over anything...I'd rather expect to be let down and then be pleasantly surprised...but these children seem PERFECT for our family, and we don't want to miss the opportunity to adopt them.
Thanks!

Hey Kristi,Any word on your homestudy yet? We're still waiting for our worker to rebook our last visit (she cancelled twice before Christmas and we haven't heard from her since). This "hurry up and wait" stuff is difficult to deal with when you're used to taking charge of situations... Hoping things go well for you! Dawn H.
Yeah, I just found out my family was not selected for the children because of the homestudy delay.
The social worker for the children told me she really wanted us to be matched, but because they took their sweet time finishing our homestudy, it was held off as long as it could be.
:grr:
So, back to square one...looking on the internet and waiting for my social worker to tell me the HS is finally approved.
It should have been Friday...we'll see on Monday I guess.
