MLK Celebrations

I was wondering if many of the transracial families participated in MLK community celebrations? I was surprised to see 3 in our community scheduled on Monday (small town). Our daughter is so young, I'm not sure if it's appropriate.

plus, if you start now, it will seem natural to dd and send the message that all this stuff isn't just "for her" but for your family.

I think MLK celebrations/remembrances are appropriate for everyone regardless of color--I believe that was his whole point.

Our city offers dozens of volunteer opportunities on MLK day, and at all we have been to, there have been all kinds of people.
