Hi... my husband and I are brand new to this process and I'm wondering if anyone might have information for me about adopting in Washington. We have a small 3 bedroom home and 2 natural children both boys. We are in the process of adopting a newborn girl. My question is, will the boys have to share a room so the baby has her own room, or can the baby share a room with us? Thank you so much for any help... Sheri

I believe the only restrictions placed on where a child sleeps is if you are adopting from foster care. In that case, a child can only share a room with you until the age of 1, and they MUST have a crib.
If it is just a regular, private domestic adoption, I don't think they much care where the child sleeps as long as you have a place for her.
Also, if you are adopting from foster care, it is my understanding that 2 children of the opposite sex may share a room until one of those children is 6 years old or older (unless this has changed in the past year).
Basically, either way, you should not have a problem.
