Hi... my husband and I are brand new to this process and I'm wondering if anyone might have information for me about adopting in Washington. We have a small 3 bedroom home and 2 natural children both boys. We are in the process of adopting a newborn girl. My question is, will the boys have to share a room so the baby has her own room, or can the baby share a room with us?
Thank you so much for any help...
Sheri
This should not have much impact on your home study. Once you have the baby home you can make any decisions on sleeping arrangements that suit your family. :-)

I believe the only restrictions placed on where a child sleeps is if you are adopting from foster care. In that case, a child can only share a room with you until the age of 1, and they MUST have a crib.
If it is just a regular, private domestic adoption, I don't think they much care where the child sleeps as long as you have a place for her.
Also, if you are adopting from foster care, it is my understanding that 2 children of the opposite sex may share a room until one of those children is 6 years old or older (unless this has changed in the past year).
Basically, either way, you should not have a problem.
Thank you so much for your replies... it's a domestic private adoption and we are hoping that she can just share a room with us...
Thank you!
