Just wanted to say Hi and introduce myself. I just started the first step this week, (which for me, means getting my US citizenship..lol) I already started research on different agencies, and I got helpful emails from the members here. I probably won't start the actual adoption paperwork till late summer/fall...but I will start working on documentation now as I am anxious in getting started.
I want to adopt a baby girl/newborn from Guatemala. :)
Congratulations on starting your adoption process.
I am a single adoptive mother of a son born in Guatemala and am presently in process for #2. You are welcome to contact me if you have any questions, or if you need anything or just want to chat!
Best of luck to you in your adoption journey.

Hi, I'm new here too, and a single mom. I have 5 bio kids and in the final steps of adopting 4 of my foster children. Been a single mom for over 10 yrs now. I actually love that I won't ever have to fight for custody of them from another parent. It's the kids and me. Thats all we need.
Hello, I am also new here and a single mom of 2 adult kids. I am in the process of adopting from the Oregon DHS. I have done everything for the home-study and I'm now waiting for the SW to complete it, which should be any day now. Then I will get to start looking. I'm hoping to find a sib group of 2-3 kids ages 3-10.

I'm sort of new here! :):). Single foster mom adopting my 2 foster sons. Then, who knows?!?!
Singlemiamimom, check and see if there is child care council/website in your area. That's how I found my day care center (which is in a house with a married couple and other kids).
I'm new here too. I just signed adoption placement papers on Monday for my fost/adopt son, Jory. I pray we are finalized in 2 to 3 months or sooner.
I'm in the beginning stages of paperchasing my second from Vietnam.

Hi Yash,
Congratulations on your adoption  . What state are you in? Here in Oregon it takes a minimum of 6 months to finalize.

Thank you so much. I live in CA. It also takes a minimum of six months. They thought this adoption would take the minimum amount of time. I'm just glad, the finish line is finally insight.
