I'm leaving this question here in case others have the same one.
I want to reply to a comment someone left me in my blog.. Does this count as part of my blogging (i.e. getting paid)... or if I reply in the category that the original blog and comment was left, does it make sense as a thread? What is the best way to answer the comments?
Thanks!
Hi,
The bottom line is that answers to comments do not count as posts for the purposes of the contract. However, blog posts ask for "comments" - not questions - no answer necessary. It's only if comments get fiery and out of line that you might have to do some editing - but not necessarily jump into the fray yourself.
If your posts generate comments, that's great because chances are people are *thinking* about what you wrote and whether or not they agree, they thought about it enough to post a comment.
The best use for comments is to get ideas for new posts... <g>.
Blogs aren't like forums where dialog back and forth is expected. If you write something and 10 people disagree with you and 10 agree, by answering comments, you could find yourself in arguments and debates - not the purpose of the blog, which is to present experience and information. A better use of things like that would be to write a new post about the differing views on the topic...
All best

Nancy,
I changed my original blog from a question to a statement. The comment still works, and my comment still works, but now its not inviting lots of interaction. thanks for the clarification.
It's ok to ask questions - I just don't want you to feel that you have start a dialog with people who post comments... <g>
