When people comment, I'd like to have the opportunity to email them back directly as well as post a reply in my own comments section. Someone has left a comment but I cant click to send her an email. Is this the way these blogs are set up or just this particular person who didn't leave her email?

Adding: The problem with publishing emails is that you open yourself to spammers. If there's someone who comments to your blog and you feel an answer is necessary, and you want to email as well, you could always post your blogger email in your reply and ask that they get in touch with you, or you could put your blogger email into your bio and refer to it.
Even with the registration for people who post comments, their email addresses are not revealed - that's pretty standard policy, I think.
All best
Nancy - Usually - the way I've seen it work - is that the email isn't "published" per se, but when you click on the person's name, you can get their email address. Most sites do that so that spam software can't capture the email address because its not actually visible on the screen. My two cents, from a long time commenter on other sites, is that it is very very useful to give the blogger access to commenters' email address. Heres why: So many times I've found a blog after clicking through three or four other blogs. I'll leave a comment but will often neglect to mark that blog and have trouble finding that blog again......unless the blogger sends me a short email thanking me for leaving a comment or with a response to my comment. And of course the blogger signs the email with the URL for the blog. If you are looking to get the word out and have higher publicity, this is something to consider. Just my two cents.
Thanks - see my post re: email comments... hehe... We are going to be doing 2 things: (1) setting up a registration process and (2) telling people who register that their email address will not show up on their post but will be visible to the blogger. Will get you all the details when this is implemented.
I am SO non-technical... sigh...

Emails don't show up for privacy protection. In your admin you can look at comments and see the email. When email addresses are just hanging out there, they're an automatic target for spammers.
General note to everyone (not just Naomi) - please use good judgment when contacting people who comment on the blogs - by email - just on general principles. People aren't always who they appear to be.
EDITED TO ADD: Consider also that if you take a conversation to email, you take it away from your comments - and the purpose of the blogs is to gather all kinds of opinions and comments - not necessarily with your additional participation. At some point, you (meaning ALL of you) are going to be SO popular that if you try to participate with responses and emails to all comments you won't have life... oh! that's like me... hehe...
