Fingerprints before homestudy?

I'm wondering if there is anyone out there that was able to schedule their fingerprints appointment BEFORE the homestudy was completed and in the hands of the CIS office? CIS has all of our paperwork except the homestudy and I heard that the fingerprints getting done without the homestudy completed depends on the location of the CIS office. We're in Houston....any good news on this subject out there?

We are in Colorado, so no Texas info, but once CIS had all of our stuff with the exception of our homestudy, they scheduled our fingerprint appointment. Our homestudy was turned in a week or two later, and we got everything back from them (the I-171) within a few weeks of them getting our homestudy!

Hope that would work for you too!!

I know that Dallas office will not schedule without complete application including homestudy.

Thank you for your response! Infact, we just received a letter from immigration stating that they have everything except the homestudy and that they will give us a fingerprint appointment when they receive the homestudy! Bummer! Anyway, thanks for responding!

Every office is different. We are using Cleveland and they will but I know some do not. GOod luck!!
