We have a NREFM placement, he's been with us since December. His goal is concurrent with adoption by us. His bio mom has no rights, the state will not allow her to parent any of her children, she is pregnant with number 9. This baby is a full sibling to our current placement. Bio mom is in jail, serving two years. The baby is due in July, and we have been asked if we wanted to work a plan with this little guy, we said yes:) Bio dad hasn't seen our current placement since December, and is not working his plan at all. We have a hearing in May, they will be asking for TPR.
Here's my question, bio mom says she doesn't want us to adopt. She's upset with me because I only let her talk to squishy once a day, as per the court order. Keep in mind, he was one year old, so conversations were short. I also refused to put money on her books when she was put in jail, so she's offended. So, can she prevent us from getting this placement? Bio dad will most likely get a plan to work with this new baby, but this is number 7 for him, he has custody of none of them. I know he can change, and will get his sons, but what can bio mom do?
She could choose to place the baby with an adoption agency, if BD agrees to give the baby up for adoption.
If the baby enters foster care, I don't think Bm has a say in it, who will get the baby.
