 Do we need to fill out two I600A applications along with double fees for application and fingerprinting???
I looked at the government site and I'm confused. We are looking to adopt two unrelated children from Vietnam.
Thanks
If I remember correctly, your homestudy will state that you are approved for two children, and that is how they find out how to process the I-600a. When you get your I-171h from this process, it should say you are approved for up to x children.
I think that there are other fees involved at the time of adoption (when filing the I-600) if the two kids are unrelated, and that may be where you have "extra" fees.
Please, someone correct me if I am wrong, that is my impression........

You only need to complete 1 I-600A adn pay the fees associated with that one application (basic fee, plus $70 per person in the household over the age of 18 for fingerprints). There is a box that asks how many children you plan to adopt. Put 2 there. And make sure that your homestudy matches that number (ie. recommends you for adoption of 2 children). You will have to file 2 I-600 applications at the consulate for the children.. so there will be 2 fees with that.
BTW, we adopted only 1 child per adoption, but on each I-600A we did, we put down 2 kiddos, just in case we got over there and circumstances changed.
