I FOUND HER! I FOUND HER! I FOUND HER! I F-O-U-N-D HER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :cheer: :thankyou: :woohoo: :D
Well, I don't have much information yet because the Adoption Social Worker from the Delaware County Children and Youth Services only contacted me yesterday to tell me that she had finally talked to her on the phone. B-mom said she wants to establish contact! :woohoo:
All I know is that she lives in Colorado and I have 2 brothers and 2 sisters. Woohoo, I am finally a BIG sister!!!!
They mailed her the Confidentiality Waiver and until she signs it they cannot give me additional information. I told them to tell her that she can contact me at any time :o while they get the paperwork done. I really don't know what else to say. All I know is that when I got the e-mail I only read "Hope all is well. Your birth mother contacted me today." After that, I started to cry and it was not until I stopped crying that I read the rest of the message. I was so afraid they were going to tell me that she wanted no contact with me. Thank heavens that was not the case. I know she has some issues because she has never told her children about me or the adoption. I really don't mind being a "secret" until she decides what to do, I just want to hear her voice and tell her how much I love her.
And to think I was starting to lose hope. I guess it is true that things happen when they have to. I have so many things in my mind now, so many things I want to say, so many questions to ask...
I CAN'T WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Anyway, to all of you who have been there through my search, thank you and I will certainly keep you posted. And for all of you searching, don't lose hope, go through the channels and you will find your loved ones. All I did (other than register on every site available!) was write a letter to the County Judge asking to open my records and they requested that I fill out some forms and I had to pay for the non-disclosing information and the rest of the search. I don't think it was more than $400USD. I don't know about the rest of the world, but to me, that is NOTHING compared to finding my birth mother (unfortunately, both her parents passed away). After that, they referred my case to the Delaware County Children and Youth Services Agency (this is where I was adopted through - I think) and they assigned my case to a wonderful angel who has been there for me every step of the way (she even got me the last name of the foster family I was placed with for the three months prior to my adoption). Now I only have to wait a little bit longer. WISH ME LUCK ON THIS UPCOMING ENCOUNTER.
Ines (the BIG sister)
