Probably many Creative Memories tools. They seem to be sturdier.
Best purchases:
cheap LARGE wheeled bag from I can't remember the name - a magazine that some businesses get that you can order things from.... SHoot. Anyway, it's as good as my CM bag, and was only $30 something and twice as big!
the paper cutter for the 10x10 (or are the 12x12?) sheets
CM'S PERSONAL TRIMMER IS MY COULDN'T LIVE WITHOUT tool
I would say my best money spent was taking basic scrapbooking skill classes. I now consider myself a 'technique' scrapper and that is based on the number of classes I took when I started.
I also love my cutterbee scissors, my fiskars 12x12 paper cutter, and honestly my garage sale find desk that allows me to keep my projects out and not have to pack up everything.
I took them through one of my local scrapbook stores.

Sorry I really didin't get to finish my thoughts there.
I recommend taking 'technique' classes such as chalking, painting, colorblocking, and using the color wheel.
There is a great article about choosing classes here:

hmmm...tough question!!
I really don't know. I love embellishments ...I like really busy pages.....
But probably, the 12x12 cutter...couldn't live without it.
